Choosing a suit starts with the fabric. The same design feels completely different in lawn and in khaddar, so here is a simple guide to the fabrics we use and when each one works best.
Lawn and silk lawn: for summer
Lawn is a fine, lightweight fabric that lets air through, which makes it the first choice for Pakistani summers. Silk lawn has a smoother feel and a soft sheen, so prints look brighter and the outfit feels a little dressier than everyday lawn.
Wear it: from March to September, for work, errands and daytime events.

Crepe: for all year
Crepe has a soft, slightly textured surface and a fluid drape. It falls well, travels well and suits both day and evening, which makes it one of the easiest fabrics to own.
Wear it: in spring and autumn, for dinners, office days and travel.

Khaddar: for winter
Khaddar is a thick, textured cotton that holds its shape and keeps you warm. It is the classic Pakistani winter fabric, and embroidery sits well on its firm surface.
Wear it: from November to February, with a shawl on colder days.

Slub cotton: for cooler days
Slub cotton is woven from yarn with thicker and thinner sections, which gives it a relaxed, textured look. It is warmer than lawn but lighter than khaddar.
Wear it: in early winter and on mild days.
Raw silk: for festive wear
Raw silk has a soft sheen and a light natural texture that shows off embroidery. It is our fabric of choice for Eid, weddings and festive evenings.
Wear it: for mehndi, dholki, Eid and formal dinners, with an organza or net dupatta.
